On 13th November 2007 (5 p.m.) prof.dr hab.n.med. Kalina Kawecka-Jaszcz presented the lecture: "Nowoczesna diagnostyka kardiologiczna - czy serce kobiety jest inne?" at the Exhibition Hall of Auditorium Maximum in Kraków (35, Krupnicza Street). It was a very beautiful lecture about our hearts, excellently prepared and presented. It comprised some history and much information about contemporary diagnostics, treatment methods, and about health problems related to lifestyle as well. Solemnly celebrating the 140th Maria Sklodowska-Curie birth anniversary, it would be very difficult to imagine more eminent person and more splendid lecture for the opening of the programme "We Promote Polish Science and Poland as the Host of the 14th ICRR", with its final, the World Congress of Radiation Research in Poland in the 100th anniversary of the Maria Skłodowska-Curie second Nobel prize winning. The Prof. Kalina Kawecka-Jaszcz lecture inaugurated the multimedial series "Science for Medicine and Society", sponsored by the Polish Ministry of Science and Education and Jagiellonian University, organised by the Maria Skłodowska-Curie memorial Polish Society for Radiation Research and the Bureau for Promotion and Organisation of the ICRR 2011 Congress. Profesor Kalina Kawecka-Jaszcz is appreciated and thanked warmly for her excellent inauguration. (Antonina Cebulska-Wasilewska)
